The Civic Center is formerly the old Lanier County High School auditorium, which was moved to the present location in 2006 in what was called "The Big Move." The building was named and dedicated in honor of Jim and Mary Threatte, two long-time educators and cherished members of our community. Mr. & Mrs. Threatte touched many lives through their devotion to Lakeland and Lanier County youth, their church, and civic activities.
Jim Threatte passed away on Wednesday, February 20, 2008.
All proceeds from Deer Fest benefit the event's sponsor, The Oak Lawn Foundation, responsible for moving and renovating the Arts and Civic center. Renovations and additions are on-going and your support is appreciated!
